Don’t Practice Sucking

Last Thursday, we kicked off the epic weekend with a live recording of PA Radio. Gathered around a table were some of the top minds in strength and performance. [@BertSorin @BrandonLilly3 @AndyStumpf212 @iHviiiMattVincent @JohnWelbourn] Weirdly hovering around those people were Luke, Tex, and Cali. And then surrounding us, about 50 freezing voyeurs…watching…judging.  Maybe we were all huddled together out of necessity for collective body warmth, maybe we were all hoping to experience something magical. Maybe it was #BOTH.

Andy Stumpf kicks off by reminding us that all life’s challenges undulate through valleys and peaks. Discussion then turns reminiscent as John and Bert Sorin trade stories about training before the internet supplied you with endless videos of people stronger than you. Finally, talk turns toward law enforcement and military. The guys try hash out how we can improve a perpetually flawed training and screening process.

EMPOWER YOUR PERFORMANCE.

Feel like you missed out on some life changing shit? You did. Live vicariously through the hashtag #2017PowerAthleteSymposium and keep your eyes peeled for video content of the whole event coming out of HQ. Better yet, make 2018 the year your don’t sleep on the Symposium. While the event was our biggest turn out to date, we intend on keeping the experience an intimate one. Thank you to all of our guest speakers who inspired minds and hearts and a very special thanks to the volunteer staff whose efforts were largely unseen but truly made the weekend a success.
